Safety and Operational Risk - Safety and Security Manager

Responsibilities

  • Assist Head of Safety and Security to develop and implement safety and security requirements in line with the corporate safety policy.

  • To develop and implement safety strategy in the context of Occupational Health and Safety, and safety in relation to Aviation Safety, ensuring the compliance of all local regulations and airlines requirements.

  • To develop and implement security strategy in the context of protection of premises, guarding of restricted area, intrusion detection, crime prevention, cargo and merchandise security, and aviation security.

  • Monitor the management and compliance of the day-to-day safety and security operations for both the Subsidiary staff and subcontractors, including strategic planning, directing, organizing and controlling.

  • Develop and communicate safety and security strategies and goals/targets, and develop evaluation methodology (e.g. audits) to measure achievements on the goals/targets.

  • Implement on-going safety and security improvement process by determining operational and performance qualifications and establishing safety and security attributes.

  • Undertake the process of departmental management reviews for the purpose of reporting feedback to the Department Heads and senior management including recommendations for improvement.

  • Communicate and co-ordinate with Government Departments on all safety and security related incidents, policies or procedures.

  • Conduct investigations on all safety and security related incidents, policy and procedure violations and criminal activities, and make recommendations to rectify the situation.

  • Develop contingency plans to cater for safety and security incidents.

  • Ensure safety and security trainings are well-delivered to concern parties.

  • Implement safety improvement projects across all Subsidiaries and other ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree holder in related disciplines.

  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant working experience in safety and security management in sizeable organization, of which 5 years in management level.

  • Registered Safety Officer or Registered Safety Auditor under the Labour Department is highly preferred.

  • Experience in security management and liaison with disciplinary forces, security system companies and aviation related business would be an advantage.

  • Experience in contractor management and the implementation of ISO 45001 would be an advantage.

  • Detail oriented, a self-motivated team player and confident leader.

  • Good communication skill with the ability to articulate ideas effectively.

  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
