Cathay Dining received the Gold Award in the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) 2022 ceremony on 15 December 2023 in the Manufacturing and Industrial Services Sector. This sector is known for its challenges in decarbonization and waste avoidance. In addition to regular food waste management initiatives, the company has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its kitchen to monitor food waste disposal practices, procured 70% of sustainable seafood with certifications such as Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), and conducted retro-commissioning to improve energy efficiency for chillers.
