Safety and Operational Risk - Assistant Quality Manager (Cargo Terminal Services)

Cathay Subsidiary Services consists of several independent departments that provides professional services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay and Vogue Laundry Service Limited.

Responsibilities

  • To implement quality system requirements in line with the corporate quality policy including the effective definition of the organization and relevant charts and terms of reference for all operational support activities consistent with corporate policy.

  • Ensure the Quality Assurance initiatives are aligned with the standards within the CX group and air cargo terminal industry.

  • To plan, schedule, communicate, control and implement the delivery of the internal audit programme covering all internal functional activities and quality, safety & security related processes in-line with corporate policy.

  • Monitor the overall Quality Control Plan implementation, analysis & follow up actions.

  • Implement on-going quality improvement process by monitoring operations procedures.

  • Participate the formal monitoring and evaluation of functional delivery of quality outputs to ensure their effective and efficient implementation including the establishment of findings and related remedial action plans.

  • To coordinate with all relevant departments & sections to create relevant documented procedures and policies manuals in line with corporate policy that complies with IATA standards, local regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

  • To manage an effective document control system in line with corporate policy including format, distribution, approval and revision control requirements including an emphasis on electronic delivery.

  • To maintain an effective records management system in line with corporate policy including generation, retention, storage, archiving, retrieval and disposition.

  • Assist to handle effective project management of ISAGO Standards implementation and other certification programs.

  • Assessment of operational activities to ensure ongoing conformance with the relevant recognized industrial standards and representing the department during any external audit process.

  • Assist to review and improve the applications of Standards and Recommended Practices to ensure its effectiveness and suitability to the business needs.

  • Assist to develop and implement Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plan in ground operations and revise such from time to time.

  • Any ad hoc duties as assigned by your superior.

Requirements

  • Degree holder or above in quality management or related disciplines.

  • Substantial operational knowledge and experience in the air cargo operations including 4 years’ experience at supervisory level.

  • Knowledge on Good Distribution Practice / Pharmaceutical handling would be advantage.

  • Sound track record in planning, implementation of new and existing quality documentation system.

  • Well versed in international quality standards, IMS and relevant legislation issues; (e.g. WHO GDP, CEIV, ISAGO, IOSA, IMS, ISO 20000).

  • Able to motivate and lead staff, and to effectively interact with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to work independently.

  • Strong planning, problem solving, can-do and self-motivated attitude and analytical skills.

  • Completion of Internal Auditor Course and/or ISAGO training is preferred.

  • Good written and verbal communications skills (both English and Chinese).

  • Proficiency in computer literacy with knowledge in MS Office.
