Customer and Commercial - Business Development Manager (Commercial)



  • Assist the Head of Commercial in developing and implementing the company's commercial strategy

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, embedded team, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of commercial plans

  • Manage and nurture relationships with strategic customers, negotiating contracts and securing new business opportunities.

  • Actively explore and solicit business opportunities to optimize the revenue performance

  • Develop short-, medium- and long-term commercial strategy to maximize third party business contributions

  • Prepare business proposals and quotations in responding to RFQ, RFI and RFP or other business enquires as required

  • Participate in commercial negotiations – i.e. contract pricing, incentives, service terms and conditions

  • Work with Commercial Excellence Team to develop customer pricing and contract strategies

  • Provide sales forecasting and business intelligence to formulate market insights

  • Identify and share customer needs to the Commercial Team for long-term planning and product development

  • Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and client meetings, as needed

  • Perform any projects or ad-hoc duties as assigned


  • Degree holder in business administration or other related disciplines

  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in commercial, business development and/or customer services fields, including 3 years at supervisory level

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading sales and marketing teams

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to secure favorable terms and conditions

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese. Mandarin would be an advantage
