Safety and Operational Risk - Assistant Safety and Security Manager
Cathay Subsidiary Services consists of several independent departments that provides professional services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay and Vogue Laundry Service Limited.
Responsibilities
Ensures safety and security environment within the company through training, monitoring and recommendation.
Establishes and implements comprehensive and strategic systems, processes & procedures to safeguard the company, staff and airline’s properties from threats or risks, its contractors’ safety and security performance.
Develops and implements safety & security plans to ensure the properties of the company, customer airlines and staff are well protected.
Assists the Manager to handle safety and security reports and maintain the safety and security reporting occurrence database.
Coordinates with line departments in conducting risk assessments on operational activities, reviewing safety & security rules and regulations for operations.
Assists line departments to execute safety and security management programmes and oversees their safety and security performance.
Member and secretary to the Front-line Safety Review Meetings and assist in preparation of briefing material and statistical reports.
Conducts accident and incident investigations, recommend preventive measures to ensure compliance with the relevant safety and security legislations as well as rules and regulations.
Plans, organises and conducts safety and security awareness training and promotional activities for the staff.
Communicates and co-ordinates with government departments on all safety and security related matters, policies or procedures.
Ensures a tight control of access to the premises and ramp area through a strict permit issuing system.
Ensures compliance to the latest OSH legislative/security programmes/formality requirements of the HKSAR, AA, Swire Group, Cathay Pacific Group, Overseas Authorities and customer airlines.
Handles different safety & security audits and inspections from LD, CAD, AA, other authorities and customer airlines.
Supports other CX subsidiaries for matters of safety and security and completes other projects/assignments as directed by the Manager.
Requirements
Tertiary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
Be a Registered Safety Officer (RSO).
Minimum 5 years of solid experience in safety management, including 3 years at managerial level, in relevant business environment or sizeable organization.
Good knowledge and solid experience in managing Safety Management System, ISO45001 and Factories & Industrial Undertakings Ordinance.
Knowledge and experience in aviation security management are preferred.
Exposure in airport ramp operations or aviation industry is an advantage.
Able to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
Consistency in delivering high quality work with strong organising and analytical skills.
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office and other PC applications).
Good interpersonal & communication and presentation skills with proactive, tactful and result-oriented personality.
Holder of a valid driving license will have an advantage.
